There was a moment,
As I took the illegal turn
Onto my street,
The one I can only take
When the good people
Are sleeping weary and deep,
When I thought I saw you
In your car, behind me.
And you followed so close
All the way to the last turn.
I told my heart to stop,
And looked again,
Just before the road rose
For home.
But the road was empty.
Like this car.
Like this room.
Like this heart.
Like this poem.
simple is best... bestest
